  1. Tighten all screws or fasteners and replace missing ones.
  2. Power wash roof to remove all dirt and contaminants.
  3. Use #80 PRIMER on all metal that is covered with asphalt aluminum coatings, oxidation or surface rust.  Clean galvanized metal or bare aluminum does not need to be primed.  Allow at least 2 hours dry time.
  4. Adhere POL-E-BASE to all seams in the following sequence.
    1. All horizontal lap seams.
    2. All vertical lap seams.

    ____________#1300T White Plastic______

    ____________#1300  White Plastic_______

    ____________#460 Pol-E-Base_________

    ____________#80 Primer______________

  1. Horizontal seam at ridge cap.
  2. Flashing around skylight and roof vents.
  3. Screw-Caps over all screws.

*Apply #80 Primer to fabric side of Pol-E-Base when over lapping another piece of Pol-E-Base.  This prevents moisture wicking.

6.  Apply the finish coat of #1300T over the entire roof area at the rate of 100 square feet per gallon.

Note:  #1300 WHITE PLASTIC  is available in White, Grey or #1300T when a more reflective surface is desired.

Material Estimating Guide

  1. #80 PRIMER is applied at the rate of 200 square feet per gallon.  Coat all metal that is covered with asphalt aluminum coating, oxidation or surface rust.  Clean weathered galvanized metal or bare aluminum does not need to be primed.
  2. #460 POL-E-BASE is applied over all horizontal  and vertical seams as well as over all screws or fasteners.  The configuration of the roof rib will determine the width you will use.  Determine the width needed by calculating a minimum of 2" on each side of the metal lap.  Horizontal ridge lap seams may require wider POL-E-BASE.  Most buildings require 4" wide material at vertical and horizontal  seams and 6" wide at ridge caps and gable trim. Use Screw-Caps to cover screws or fasteners.
  3. #1300 WHITE PLASTIC first coat is applied at the rate of 100 square feet per gallon.  #1300 is available in standard White or Grey to blend with the weathered galvanized roof panels.  Pastel earth tone colors are available by special order.  Call for order procedure and minimum quantity information.
  4. #1300T is applied on the finish coat of the POL-E-BASE Metal Building Repair System, when a reflective insulating coating is specified.  #1300 is also applied at the rate of 100 square feet per gallon.  If the finish is to be Grey or a special color use the tinted color for both the first and last coat.
