PRODUCT DESCRIPTION: #4800 is an acrylic basement waterproofing that is a high solid emulsion for use on concrete products, both interior and exterior. Specification Chemicals does not anticipate any significant health or physical hazards associated with the normal use of this material. Nonetheless, the user is strongly encouraged to be familiar with the information presented in this MSDS and use prudent handling practices at all times. Consult supervisory personnel, a health and safety professional or the manufacturer regarding any adverse effects associated with the use of this material.

(1) Crystalline silica (as cristobalite and quartz)
as the respirable fraction is listed as a Group 2A carcinogen ("probably
carcinogenic to humans") by the International Agency for Research on
Cancer (IARC). This material is suspended in liquid in product. Exposure
potential is negligible during normal use.
(2) Occupational Safety and Health Administration
(OSHA) Permissible Exposure Limit (PEL) for crystalline silica (as
cristobalite) based on formula: 1/2 (30 mg/m3/ SiO2+2).
(3) Ceiling limit - Concentration that should not be
exceeded during any part of the working exposure.
(4) Occupational Safety and Health Administration
(OSHA) Permissible Exposure Limit (PEL) for crystalline silica (as quartz)

IV. REACTIVITY
This
product is stable. Hazardous decomposition or polymerization will not occur in
normal use. There are no known incompatibilities with this material. As with
any chemical material, avoid prolonged use at extremely high temperatures
(>212 degrees Fahrenheit).

VII. SPILL
OR LEAK PROCEDURE
If
Material is Spilled:
Restrict area to authorized personnel only. Contain small spills by using an
adsorbent such as vermiculite; absorbent diking materials may be used for
larger spills.
Waste
Disposal Methods: Consult
local and/or state regulatory agencies for appropriate disposal method.
VIII. PERSONAL
PROTECTIVE EOUIPMENT
Respiratory
Protection: Respirators
not necessary during normal use. Consult supervisory and/or safety and health
personnel for respiratory protection needs during special use circumstances.
Per OSHA regulation 29 CFR 1910.134, respirator users are required to be
fit-tested and trained before proper usage.
Ventilation: General room ventilation is expected to be satisfactory. Use
of product in enclosed areas and/or special applications may require
supplementary local exhaust. Consult supervisory and/or health and safety
personnel.
Gloves: Use chemically-impervious, rubber gloves. As with any chemical
material, avoid prolonged contact.
Eye Protection: Wear safety glasses. For activities with high splash
potential, add side shields or face shield.
